What to see and do
Discover the island’s typical architecture and layout in places such as La Orotava, a cozy and pretty town that has been declared historical artistic set, Garachico and its many and well-preserved mansions and churches or the picturesque village of Buenavista del Norte and its main square, plaza de los Remedios.
And as the island’s most notable city, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, popularly known as La Laguna and declared World Heritage Site. Wander around the lively streets and squares in its pedestrian old town and discover the churches, palaces and convents that narrate the city’s rich history.
For those that enjoy active tourism, we recommend going under the sea to explore its bottom or getting on board to look for pilot whales and dolphins on its surface. Additionally, near the hotel you will find bike riding and kayaking options, as well as many hiking routes. Although slightly far from the hotel, one of the most popular ones is the Masca Trek within Teno Rural Park, where you can descend the cliffs at Los Gigantes, prior visit to Masca’s hamlet. In Parque Rural de Teno you can enjoy the powerful contrast in landscape and vegetation between its north and south slopes, both with great biological diversity and unique orography.
In the island you will also find Anaga Rural Park, a flora-and-fauna-rich set of valleys and precipitous mountains going grandly all the way down to the sea, having several species that are only found in the Canary Islands. Nature-lovers will also enjoy a visit to Charco de Isla Cangrejo, a tranquil natural pool, ideal for a relaxing bath and with some impressive sunsets.
Last but not least, whether by car or with one of the many tour options offered in the region, explore the tallest mountain in Spain and its moon-like landscape: Teide National Park is a must-see!
And when talking about the moon, nothing better than the peaks in Tenerife to watch its craters, although the rings of Saturn or the innumerable stars may be of more interest. Tenerife has a Starlight certification that classifies it as one of the best places in the world for stargazing. Among the recommended places are the Teide lookouts, the surroundings of the mountain lodge Parador de Turismo or Guajara mountain.
